I have no idea. ORAS was using the original soundtrack as a base, so of coirs ethe XY sound team made it soind distinctly ichinose like, but here it feels like its actually his work. I fucking hope so, cause the B2W2 additoons were god like. Gladoon especially is some top tier theme music.

Not really absent, he supervised the battle songs, but not composed. The only song composed and arranged for the games in X/Y by him is the Shopping theme. The Super Music Collection explains that.

He must have been busy rearranging and recomposing his songs for OR/AS, as he takes a lot of pride and care for his musical style, ever since pulseman and quinty.

Ever since red and blue, i've liked his style more than Masuda's. His style tries to incorporate instruments and tones from other cultures into an amalgam that sounds universally good, just like the whole B/W, B2/W2 soundtrack (75% of those were his job)

Masuda just tries to emulate such cultures, but never harmonize with them, which makes them kinda bland; some aren't bad, but they aren't prominent.

That track of >>28354428 has his classic style imprinted, as well as the battle themes for the game. Safe to say that he's composing most of the track again, which is good. I feel a little more relieved with the game as well.

I mean, he's the author of N's Theme, Ghetsis theme's, the PWT finals theme, and of course, this gem embedded here. Who wouldn't want him on a game?

He was absent during XY and ORAS due to directing and composing the entire soundtrack of Pocket Card Jockey, so it was likely he would return in the first place since it's long past

Partially, because he doesn't want to "compete" against him. Go Ichinose has achieved something Masuda still is striving for: getting a proper musical style; but since he directs stuff, and was tutoring (read: sabotaging) OR/AS with his influence over Ohmori's decisions, he doesn't have time to actually develop himself. Hence why he doesn't like Ichinose's presence.

Thankfully, Ohmori's directing this without Masuda's totelage, and we're seeing a metric ton of difference because of that. Music-wise and game-wise.

I, for one, welcome back Go ichinose's music.

Go Ichinose is the heart and soul of Pokemon but I did not hate XY's music even in his absence. Whoever composed SM's battle music needs to be executed, though, that shit is terrible and just thinking about dealing with that for the entirety of the game is killing the excitement I had for this game.

I think the Wild battle and Trainer battle themes are Masuda, sounds like his 'style' and IIRC Masuda has composed every Wild/Trainer theme to date. Gladion's theme definitely sounds like Ichinose though. At least we know Kageyama won't be back this time since he left after ORAS. Even though he said he'd work with GF again, he wouldn't be back this soon. Then there's also Minako Adachi and Hideaki Kuroda, who both arranged a few tracks really well between the two of them in XY and ORAS. The four of them should be able to put out a great soundtrack, especially with Ichinose leading a good portion of the music production.

The other's are indeed Masuda's doing, or Kageyama's. Poor kageyama; he had good ideas, couldn't implement them in the end with GF. Such is life for some...

The battle themes, these, however...sound a lot like Masuda's, but as if he was trying to imitate someone's style; especially the wild battle one.

Until the Super Music Collection is out, we cannot know who made those.

Kageyama used Kontakt Factory Library and VSL, for example. Pretty sure like everyone else uses EWQL stuff, such as Adachi.
