personally Im tired of so many water types, I would use a different type just like with bruxish, clearly based on a fish but not water type, in the case of the dolphin I may make it mono fairy-type or at least half fairy

Dolphins are known for fighting off schools of sharks in real life, so it would make sense to have a Water/Fighting dolphin Pokemon that serves as a sort of counterpart to Sharpedo. Not only is Fighting the de facto "justice" type, but it would be SE against the Water/Dark Sharpedo. To better fit the Fighting type theme, give it some visual traits of olympic swimmers/lifeguards/sailors/what have you.

I'd actually made a fake starter line when I was like 10 and kept refining it until I stopped drawing altogether. Basically it went
Dolfin > Dorca > Angeluga
Starts out as a cute little blue bottlenose, changes into a rogueish orca, then into an angelic looking beluga. The idea was that as it grew, it would become more violent to protect its pod. As a fully grown being, however, it could simply use its soothing voice to redirect aggressors away from it. At the time Angeluga became a Psychic type, but now I guess it'd be a fairy...

Really I just want a Pokemon based on a bottlenose or common dolphin. They can throw in whatever gimmick they want. Banana dolphin from earlier would be cute.
