Also Aether is clearly the antagonist here. Team skull is little more than a street gang, a team rocket lite, that's gonna end up redeeming themselves. Maybe Gladion has the goal of leading TS against Aether, but that seems far off when they have goons who think they can get rich selling Slowpoke. There's probably going to be a scene when the protag is cornered by Aether and Team Skull will bust in to save the day led by gladion. It'll be neat.
