I actually like Lugia's theme, at least after the strange beginning. If it started at 0:12 seconds or something like that I feel like people wouldn't hate it as much. Ho-Oh's theme definitely is better though, even though I do prefer Lugia.

I do agree that Ho-Oh's theme is way better. It's even obvious that Ho-Oh got the better treatment with the remakes. The forest leading up to the tower, that cutscene...

It's strange considering how little Ho-Oh has gotten from Nintendo. The anime just teases us with the bird's importance, and it makes 0 major movie appearances. Even as far as merch is considered, Lugia ranks waayyyy higher.

gonna be an autist here and just say it, I think it would be cool if they gave Lugia's theme a remix of the flute song from Pokemon The Movie 2000. Granted I did like the HGSS themes for both, but if Lugia had the flute song remix it would be my undisputed favorite battle theme.

In a halfway related note though, despite Lugia's theme being lackluster, HGSS had some pretty good music overall.
