I love Pikachu. I think it's a 10/10 solid design. I haven't watched the anime in forever, but I always loved the one with the Electabuzz and the Scyther, where it falls in love with the ketchup. It's also my girlfriend's favorite Pokemon. Having played the series since Gen 1 came out, it holds a special place in my heart--although I wouldn't mind a new Pokemon getting the spotlight for a while. I like Raichu more, though.

Bonsly is really cute. I find I'm one of the few people on /vp/ that really defends Baby Pokemon. I think they're cute and allow a player to train a great Pokemon (like Sudowoodo) from early game. I honestly wouldn't mind more baby Pokemon. I use it in LC sometimes.

Ursaring is my number 1 favorite Pokemon, tied with maybe Teddiursa and Pancham. He's very simple, as many Johtomons tend to be, but I love his design, and whenever I think about Gen 2, I immediately picture Teddiursa. I wish new Megas were confirmed, because I think he deserves one.

I think Ambipom is alright, although a bit unfortunate. I find pic related to be a really solid design, and Ampibom is a relatively mediocre follow-up. I think the hate for Ambipom stems from its 2D art, which is kind of weak art wise. I think it looks better in motion in the anime and 3D. With a different hairstyle, it'd be 8/10. It's kind of silly and goofy, and I like that about it.

I like the idea of a Pokemon having that many forms. I wish it were a bit more useful--like I said about Luvdisc, the idea of a gimmick mon not having a good gimmick is useless. I like Jynx for lore reasons. People mostly argue whether it's inspired by blackface or Ganguro, but I always thought of it as those legends of Nordic princesses with frostbitten black skin. Having been a kid when Gen 1 released, I thought Jynx was goofy and funny, and the idea of a Pokemon having huge tits tickled my 7-year-old mentality. So I think it gets a pass. I would like to see it get a skinny Alola Forme, though.

I like the Therian forms of Green and Blue, but Orange is really ugly. I think their Genie forms are kind of ugly, mostly the spire/tails. I love Slurpuff, it just looks so retarded and fun. That said, I can't get past Aromatisse's "diaper" motif. I know, it's supposed to be a can-can dancer or some pompom shit, who cares, it looks like a diaper.. Beartic is a great Pokemon who was bogged down by a shitty debut sprite.

Samurott is a fantastic Pokemon that people just dislike because it's a quadruped. I love it, though I will admit I love Dewott more.

Klinklang is an unfortunate mon who will forever be outshone by the Magne- line. It's also one of the earliest "Yo-Kai Watch" looking Pokemon, but since it obviously debuted 2-3 years earlier than Yo-kai Watch, it's probably pretty decent evidence that Pokemon designs aren't trying to copy YW.

Its nice to hear your thoughts of it. Im actually a fan of both Oshawott's evolutions, as Oshawott looked weird and non-threatening but it's evolutions flipped that feel and become pissed off sea mammals with warrior motifs which made me adore the whole line. A shame Dewott's furfag infested fanbase hindered my liking to it. I thought it looked really cool coming out of Oshawott, and Samurott felt like an extension of what made Dewott cool to me which is why I wasn't bothered by the structural change.

I also like Keldeo. Though I prefer its first form because it looks more like a hat. I can understand why people don't like it, especially during the time of its release, but I personally feel its a pretty nice and simple little water horse.

It also has really cool animations in the 3D games like the spinning handstand kick.

Let's start with the fact that it looks more like a garbage bag than trubbish, is a useless baby Pokemon that brings nothing other than aggravation for people who like Snorlax due to the fucking honey trees that teases "You like Snorlax, right? Well there are three randomly picked trees through out the world, and if you guess the tree correctly there's a 1% chance that you will get a fucking useless garbage bag that's supposed to be your favorite pokemon!". Oh and if you want to fill out your pokedex in other games you can't obtain them properly either you have to fucking breed a Snorlax by giving it a specific hold item that's useless for anything other than selling or breeding even more useless Munchlaxs! On the subject of being useless in Smash Bros it's even more useless than the Goldeen that flops around since Munchlax just sits on its fat, ugly, useless ass and only moves if there's food items around in which case it only eats them and goes back to being pointless. It doesn't even look like it's supposed to be the pre-evo of Snorlax, it's more like the designer tried to make a typical gen IV pokemon and realized "Hey, this pokemon is kinda similar to an already existing pokemon, let's make it its pre-evo!". It's about as cute as a garbage bag but unlike trubbish it doesn't have the excuse of being modeled after a garbage bag.

I agree that 'baby' pokemon haven't been managed very well. I wish they'd just remove the incense breeding.

I also wish they'd actually put some of them out in the wild for us to catch, like Magby and Elekid in B2W2, that was really refreshing. They're a complete waste of time if their only purpose is to be eventually bred then immediately boxed after you've beaten the game. Pokemon like Sudowoodo are too strong to give to the player during the beginning of the game. Bonsly can serve a purpose like any other unevolved pokemon, they could be found in the wild to give you access to that pokemon at a later date. But they don't do that, they make them exceedingly rare, unavailable until postgame or only obtainable via breeding. Just fucking remove them if you never intend the player to ever use them.
