Honestly, at this point they need a soft reset to make things more manageable. I'm not saying GF needs to start from scratch, but rather they should make item-based evolutions/transformations less complicated to reduce the amount of shit you've got to collect.

Take Mega evolutions. There honestly should be a single Mega Stone given to the player when they get the Key Stone. Any Pokemon holding that Mega Stone can Mega evolve. Any Pokemon holding it that can't gets a small boost to all their stats. For those that like multiple Megas to trip up opponents, additional Mega Stones can be purchased at the Battle Tower / Maison post-game.

The Arceus plates are another thing. Make them appear as items in the overworked only after we actually have an Arceus present in that copy of the game. Since we already have items like Charcoal / Poison Barb / etc., their secondary effect of boosting attack power is redundant.
