You are seriously underselling Linoone. This guy is a champ, and has consistently had a slot on my storyline team since Sapphire.

Linoone makes an excellent HM slave, with access to at least three HM moves in every generation, plus several more field- and battle-utility moves such as Dig, Secret Power, and Thief. What makes it superior to other HM slaves is the ability Pickup, which provided him another means of contributing without actually being involved in battles.

Of all the random shinies to catch, I think a shiny Linoone is the one I would be the most likely to use during gameplay rather than confine in a trophy case.

Finally got that Galvantula I was looking for earlier this week. I spent almost five days after I fucked up on the first one and ended up with 2 shiny stunfisk and 5 (now 3) shiny dedenne.

Shiny Lucario, of which I have the pleasure of owning.

Ran into it (As a Riolu) in the beginning of my B2 playthrough. Was ecstatic. And his Nature was Adamant. I even made it a point to have him get properly EV trained.

His IVs might not be perfect, but S/M can fix that.

I like the inverted color scheme he has going, and how it looks.

To fill the pokedex you just need to have them once, once you evolve a charmander it's done, you don't need it anymore.

Motivation for people hunting their first shinies or just feel like giving up: just keep hunting. What everyone says is true, once you get one they all flood in. My first game was sapphire and I didn't get a shiny until X, when I found a random shiny onix while playing through the story.

Long story short, the higher your search level, the higher the chance of finding a shiny. Chains exist at the 49 & 99th chain where the 50 & 100th pokemon will have an increased chance of being shiny at 5x and 10x respectively.

I've been trying to get a shiny Pawniard for the past few days, I've been trying every possible method to get it from MMing, to radar chaining which I'm shit at and random encounters with a shiny magnet pull nosepass I caught a few days ago. The only other thing I could try is friend safari but it seems that no-one on /vp/ has a Pawniard safari. Last week I got 6 shinies, have I used up all my luck?

safari seems like the second best shiny hunting method (after hordes). I get a shiny about every hour or so. The problem is that since there's 2 to 3 pokemon in the safari, you're not guaranteed to get what you what.

When you're breeding to get a shiny, if the parent is from a foreign country the odds of hatching a shiny increase. It doesn't have to be shiny.

Got my shiny Foongus yesterday after 339 eggs.
His special attack IV is absolutely terrible, but it's nothing hyper training won't be able to fix. The ability is Regenerator and that's all that really matters.

Am I the only one that isn't a fan of methods that make shiny hunting easier?

I feel like the methods are getting easier and easier, too. Fish chaining in particular, I've done it three times and got a shiny in under an hour for each.

A shiny just doesn't feel right to me unless it's full odds. I'm even a little peeved that they doubled the odds in gen 6. Maybe I'm just a masochist.
