Yeah, Pokemon is a game that it marketed towards kids, yet many games that are popular among adults are. Super Mario, Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Megaman, Super Smash Bros, etc, are all marketed towards kids yet are commonly played by adults. So yeah, the people who try and defend it saying "it's not a kid's game" are wrong, but the label "kid's game" shouldn't exactly be a bad label as many popular games are "kid's games".
