Because everyone on this board for the most part is in the last stages of "growing up," (~21 to ~25), and people that age tend to be hyper sensitive to nostalgic things as they become aware that adolescence is leaving them while they stand by and watch.

Hard to say. I enjoyed the series back in 2013 when I binged all the ones I missed (except HGSS, can't finish that), I even enjoyed XY as flawed as it was. Then ORAS came out and I just fell out. Even forced myself to finish it half a year later and regretted buying it.

So far Sun/Moon hasn't really wowed me. It's like they're talking it the same direction as XY, which is unfortunate. I can only hope it gets me back into the series.

I rarely ever keep up with any facet of the Pokemon community, so I came back to /vp/ after a while to see what things were like here, since I'm not much into reddit or other places.

Because it's been such a big part of a lot of our lives, I'm sure. I was about 10 or 11 when the franchise started up over here so it's been with me longer than most of my friends. Everybody wants what is best I think, but a lot of people really get too aggressive over it, which I feel is missing the point of the series. I take it seriously, but I don't upset over choices I don't have any say in, I just enjoy what I like and pass on the things I don't. I wish more people did that.

Honestly I'm a newfag to this board since I just got back into Pokemon but I've been on other boards for years. I'm just here out of boredom and to tide me over until Sun/Moon comes out because most other places are over-run with Pokemon Go casuals right now.
