As someone that grew up playing Red, the pandering needs to stop, there are so many other amazing Pokemon across gens that need love.

That being said, I'm glad Kanto-mons are getting Alola variants, since so many, and I mean SO MANY, Kanto Pokemon are so dreadfully boring and uninspired. Would still love to see interesting variants for other mons, like Galvantula and Volcarona.

This. But Genwun pandering aside my main fear regarding Alola forms is how they're going to diminish the number of new Pokemon we're going to have. Yes, I know we're going to reach the 1000 mark soon and thus it would make sense to slow down on the number of new Pokemon, and yes many are actually happy with the decision to have only 50 new Pokemon because "muh quality>quantity", but as someone(and I know many others like me) who has so far liked or don't have any problems with the dex's so far, I want atleast 100 Pokemon again.
