The only time starmie dropped I think was when Aegislash ran rampant. Also what buff did Gengar receive in Gen 5 where Starmie got more conditional power with LO Analytic?

Its typing is also great defensively right now, just because it can check Keldeo by resisting both its STABs and having Natural Cure to not worry about burns. The fact that it does get Recover, and utility moves like Thunder Wave and Rapid Spin make it mandatory on balance teams without Slowbro.

Yes I'm sure that's why they gave it Natural Cure. There's a more fitting ability for it now, though. The dex even outright says it grows body parts back.
