Hey /vp/, I'm a few years behind on pokemon so humour me.

What's so special about this little guy? Is there any reason why he's an event only pokemon in Black/White 1? From what I gather, there's nothing particularly noteworthy about him statwise or in plot/lore, so why is he so exclusive? As far as I'm aware, he's the only non-mythical event exclusive pokemon. What gives?

I know you can get him in B/W 2, I'm just curious as to what his deal is.

His evolution was the first Gen 5 pokemon revealed, basically they wanted to have another Lucario situation, reveal a coolmon from the next generation that will hype kids for the next games.

I think they were trying to make Zorua "The Next Big Thing" and thought that making it extremely rare would make it even more desirable. These days, you can catch it on the first route out of Littleroot Town in ORAS, so I guess they learned better.
