But please, entertain us with your completely unique opinion.

As someone who played all the games on release, BW1 and XY were both shit. Each was worse in different ways, and BW1 less shit overall, but I would still rather replay XY if only because it gives you the tools to curbstomp the game with ease if you wish and thus make it end faster, as well as more variety in what you can use to make a replay slightly less monotonous.

On X/Y I just got badge no. 7

On Black I'm just past the freezer/cold storage location.

I don't play much for the story, I play more for the challenge. X/Y was far too easy (I know, don't use EXP share, but if the game gives you the tools to make it easier to beat.. I can't bring myself not to use them). Another thing that really turned me off to X/Y is the ability to use wonder share before finishing the main game. I spent 10 minutes on it and came away with some really powerful/high level monsters that sucked away any motivation I had to level up/grind my current roster.

With Black I don't have the online trading crutch and I understand that I need to beat the game before I can use the trading functionality.
