I mean they're cool, cute, feisty, colorful and very well-known animals, they'd make a perfect base for a new Pokémon. Why hasn't GF stepped up and taken the opportunity yet?

It could be cool to see like maybe a first evolution based on a guppy or minnow or something that has a split evo depending on gender. Males could be water/fighting and females could be water/fairy since females are sliiightly less aggressive

But don't let actual betta fishes' appearance fool you, they're mean as hell when they want to be
