Rushing through Emerald ROM. Get to Tate and Liza gym. Claydol fucks over my Blaziken, my carry, with ease but my weakling team manage to get to Lunatone and Solrock.

Dual Psychic fuck over my team time and time again, reload after reload, with ease. Lunatone used Psychic! Solrock used Psychic! Blaziken has fainted! Reload, rinse, repeat.

I decide I need to just start over with a stronger team but for some retarded reason my save state is when I started the battle with the gym leader.

I reload to my original savestate at the start of the battle and use Gardevoir first to deal some damage so Blaziken can sweep. The nigga levels up after a brief match with Claydol and Xatu.
>Gardevoir wants to learn Imprison....
>OH SHIT, NIGGA!
These motherfuckers can't use Psychic as long as Gardevoir is alive. Their only alternative was to cast Sunny Day and Light Screen, but Blaziken destroyed any chance of that cunt Solrock from spitting out a Solarbeam.

Honestly the most memorable moment was fighting Red on Mt. Silver. Just working your way up the mountain fresh off of beating the Elite Four thinking you're the greatest trainer in the world. Not knowing what to expect, you reach the top of that fucking mountain. You see the sprite and you're in disbelief because you vaguely remember seeing it before

>". . .. . ."
>". . .. . ."

In your excitement and confusion he proceeds to stomp your entire team.

I honestly feel for the newer generation of players that they never get to experience this moment unbiased and fresh because the older generation talks on and on about it. We had no Internet, no guides, everything was learned either by word of mouth or fumbling around which led to amazing moments of discovery.

Nice trips.
Pokemon is still fun but knowledge takes away the difficulty completely.

Using the braille guide in the Sapphire manual to catch the Regi trio.
Beating the Elite 4 in Yellow.
Capturing Kyogre in my last Poke Ball
Almost losing to Ghestis only for Darmanitan to get three critical hits and to demolish his way through that team.
Capturing Shadow Sudowoodo in Colosseum, fuck the other Shadow Pokemon, that fucker felt like he had a catch rate of -255.
The Under, everything about The Under. I want a Colosseum remake with a much more expanded and grimier Under, that is still my favourite location in all of Pokemon.

Gen 5

Gen 6
>going to a few stores at midnight to see if we could pick up copies with me and all my friends
>waking up early and we all played in a college dorm at the same time, all of us walking through the journey together and discovering new things

Pokemon was, and always will be special. No matter if I am 7 or 25.
Sounds like a man child thing to say, but for some people it's Star Trek, others it's Spiderman, but I will always have a soft spot for these games and what it means for me and my friends.

gen 1, most memorable was beating the elite 4 over and over to buy enough coins for porygon. i sucked at the gambling.

gen 2 was constantly phoning picknicker liz and cooltrainer beth, RPing they were my girlfriends

gen 3 was HATING THE EVERLOVING FUCK OUT OF THE WATER ROUTES

gen 4 biggest memory was buying it on release day for the first time

gen 5 was CORY IN DA HOUSE roms

gen 6 was the fireworks with shauna, fuck you

>everytime I get her to 60% she recovers
>she still has one recover and I'm at about 10 surfs and 7 ice beams
>decide to just keep going even though there's no hope
>use ice beam
>Milotic is frozen
>well that was lucky, but she'll thaw next turn
>keep hitting Milotic
>Milotic has been frozen for 5 turns
>realize it's going to take nearly all of my remaining moves to kill Milotic

>turn 15: it's going to thaw and use recover
>turn 17: and I'll struggle to death when I run out of Rest

>>
>>28126749
Combined with the fact it's one of the earliest TMs you get in the game, ground is a good attacking type, and semi invulnerable turns aren't a downside if your opponent doesn't set up.

It's really how gamefreak should balance two turn moves, but they are retarded.

>Gen 1 - Genwunner
Well, for starters, my Blastle disappeared suddenly from my game at level 38, and reappeared three weeks later at level 50.

Raichu is the only money (pay day).

Holy shit is Alakazam a cheap bastard. (both side of that coin).

Safari Zone on Cinnibar? Wait, really?
Old man -> infinite items? BICICLE DUPLICATED! RESTART YOUR GAME.

Dec. 25 bug. I had two years in a row that the game just decided it'd had enough and reset back to start on Christmas Day.

Using game genie to see each and every possible glitchmon. This may or may not have been the reason for the carts... instability.

R2 Mewtwo vs. Mewtwo. Freeze hax ftw.

Caught 'em all (thanks game genie)

>Gen2 - Played for the first time shortly after gen 4 first released
Having Chikorita as your starter is suffering.

Dunsparce with rollout? Ha, I can beat that cow at its own game!

Getting two out of three of the beasts easily, but can't get Entei for the life of me. Leaves a Gengar at level 39 with Mean Look at the start of party anytime in the neighborhood.

Shiny Gyarados is shiny. Never saw a legit one til gen 6.

Ice path is annoying until you realize you're getting in less fights.

Totally failing to understand how important ExtremeSpeed was.

This is the endgame levels?

What happened to the map in Kanto? Did the quadratic equation erupt?

Seriously, the level scaling.

>Gen 3 - the skipped.
Didn't have a GBA until almost time for DS. Skipped all of gen 3.

>Gen 4 - SS the gen.
Got Soul Silver first this gen, then never appreciated the others. Have a copy of Diamond somewhere, but it's pretty early in the game, and seriously, where are the fire types?

SS- GB Sounds are amazing. EVERYTHING IS FUCKING AMAZING.

First time I ev trained for anything.

Hell, first time I bred anything beyond I want this for my dex I'm never going to complete ever again. (still working on that-need some legends for livingDex.)

COILCOILCOILCOIL - How do magnets work?

I guess I'm to casual for this game, also nobody but me in my area seems to have it.

Wait, why'd you take down the one thing I really liked this gen. Wait now you're taking down Join Ave. too? What the hell?

>Gen 6
Wait you get two starters?

I'm going to dress like NOT a faggot.

Wait, the best one I've reset for in like 30 tries was female anyway? Nice.

Snorlax MVP!

Also Swords.

Wait, why can't I fight megaLucar..... Oh. Well, I guess that's ok?

Going to polar area? Better buy my guy a winter jacket... wait did I just do that?

Seriously, why is over half my team WRECKED by ground types? Thank god for Snorlax MVP.

Wait, that's it? That wasn't really that much of a champion...
>6.2
Well, I like the dexnav. That's pretty neat. Oh god why are they twenty levels higher all of a sudden?

Why do I have to go through all this "story" to get to the fight I want to redo?

>but they resemble dogs more than cats and thus they're called dogs
what kind of furfag deviantard dream you're living?
only entei resembles a dog despite being based on the traditional chinese depiction of the lion, suicune and raikou look nothing like dogs either, one is clearly a tiger the other is neither and is "eevee" tier mix, even the creature it is based on is ambiguous

those legendaries come from johto, which is the region among with sinnoh, that has the biggest ammount of japanese traditional culture, especially johto (also explains how both regions were linked in gen 4)

entei, suicune and raikou, just like ho-oh and lugia are strictly based on traditional myths and tales from japan and china, including their design following the ancient rappresentations of those beats, of course the chinese lion statues people witness nowadays look like dogs but that's pretty much how people have seen them back then, look at how people rappresented dolphins for example, they look more like some demons with lips or beaks and scales or how the contemporary to dante's inferno saga beasts rappresentations were

yeah, I didn't phrase it correctly, if you want a Pikachu you need to evolve a Pichu by raising its friendship

Re-examine your life.

My first time beating Brock in Pokemon Yellow. I used Pikachu and a full team of shitmons and tackled Onix to death. My entire team but one Caterpie fainted and Caterpie managed to beat Onix with just a small amount of hp left. It leveled up enough to evolve but I cancelled it since I thought Metapod can only use Harden.

Finding the Power Plant by chance. I killed Zapdos since I have no idea what legendary pokemon are.

In my second run through Gen 3, I decided to use a full team of shitmons named after superheroes and supervillains. I challenged the Elite 4 completely underleveled to the point that Drake and Steven were one-shotting my pokemon forcing me to spam Revives. Pyro the Magcargo got the last hit on Steven's last pokemon.

Also on my first run of BW I got tired of the game at the end and decided to cheese Ghetsis out by using Sword Dance + X Speed + Healing items and sweeping his whole team with an underleveled Scolipede.

Something like you had to deposit a Pokemon in the Battle Tower PC and then turn off during the autosave when starting a challenge.

Whilst I do like your trips, Grovyle made life hell for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gyms as a kid.

Especially Sapphire's Combuskin with Double Kick and Ember. Didn't help that my Grovyle had Absorb, Leech Seed, Quick Attack and Pursuit I suppose but still.

I'm curious to know why they don't do in game events. What's the point to doing those events.

>Finding a shiny caterpie and shiny Oddish in leafgreen

Gen V
>Buying it with my student loan with my flatmate at university and playing it through together literally battle by battle. We don't speak anymore since he moved to Japan but every time i play Gen V it makes me miss university life so bad.
>Having real life long discussions over N's philosophy and whether he was right
>Getting pissed at the shitty switch they did with ghetsis just being generic evil guy who wants to rule the world

>Fuck off exp share
>Why does everything have to be so incredibly easy

Just started playing white2 in preparation for sun and moon because I skipped over it when it came out.
