It SORT OF was outclassed by it in Gen IV, but then Storm Drain came. Gastrodon is far better than Swampert and fits into way more teams. If it wered for Unaware Quagsire having some pretty critical uses itself, Gastrodon would be the uncontested king of Water/Ground pokemon.

Torkoal is at least bulky and viable in game, as well as having the SR/Rapid Spin niche for lower tier online battles.

Slugma isn't even fully evolved. If we're talking Magcargo, at least that normally survives enough neutral hits to do some damage.

I love both but in most situations a Gastrodon is better. I run a Swampert rather than a Gastrodon mainly for wide guard.

Mightyena because it has really good appearance and looks like sick, bloodlust and beauty in a same time. But its stats and move set is shit. After gen 4 it got some Fang moves but, not enough. Feel sad for it.

Supereffective damage on Torkoal is just as common ingame as in linked battle. Slugma/Magcargo don't ever see "neutral hits", those are a distant fantasy for a Fire/Rock pokemon.

Gastrodon is a hidden gem. Can't believe it's NU.

Storm drain completely fucks with bulky waters. Go max physical def to annoy stuff like azumarills. Completely walls the ever present Rotom-W. I like to run a rocky helmet gastro and just spam recover on some pokes.

Chatot, it's kind of outclassed by every other flying pokemon, but I still love the little fucker.

It already has good attacking stats and an amazsing movepool. If only it had better defenses and/or speed.

Seismitoad was here, Gastrodon is still a cool guy but he can't poison with Grass Knot and Drain Punch ; ^)

It's so cute and fluffy but its garbage ability makes regular way better. I wish it kept Regenerator or even had Triage, which with heal pulse would keep the whole "the doubles mega" thing GF wanted for it

Chatter is a damaging 100% Confusion move.
Chatot also is a Nasty Plotting Boomburst user and the fastest one who has STAB with it and a usable Speciall Attack.
There's a lot going against Chatot but it does have unique qualities.

no a lot of pokemon can't use chatter, and the only other stab boomburst users are exploud and swellow. swellow has no special attack, and exploud is slow as fuck.

Chatot isn't good competitively, but use a real arguement.
