I can't believe it took me this long to realize
>inb4 "it's because you're retarded"
I already knew that. Anyway:
>Morelull are nocturnal Pokémon that walk around at night on their leg-like roots.
>Morelull broadcast spores that glow brightly when they burst open. Looking at their pulsing light has a soporific effect.
>soporific effect
Morelull is a nightlight mushroom. I have been enlightened.
>>28096043
Yeah I like that about it, really sets it apart from the other mushroom pokemon. Probably why it's a fairy type.
>>28096082
Yeah, I like it too. But I have a hard time seeing what it could evolve into... Maybe a giant nightlight? Or a light show?
>>28096043
Isn't it also a Fairy Ring?
>>28096226
I imagine the 'bulb' part of it will become much larger and house a ring of glowing mushrooms on it, while the root legs will get much larger.
Morelull is based off foxfire or "fairy fire", which refers to bioluminescene. NOT fairy rings from that bullshit rumor.
Also worth noting that it's called the "Illuminating Pokemon". Not a mushroom mon like the other three lines (Paras, Shroomish, Amoongus).
>>28096226
It could become a lamp, fairy ring, simply a bigger mushroom, or something else entirely. It's impossible to tell at this point.
It's a mixture between the nightlight mushroom and the fairy type comes from "fairy mounds" which are circles of mushrooms in which fae live beneath and hide from mortals ) kind of like smurfs) from Arthurian, Irish, and Gaelic lore. I'm expecting to to evolve into a group of morelul like dugtrio based on that.
>>28096226
A while back someone suggested it could evolve into a "parasol lady" or something similar. I could see it. Mushroom Lilligant with a parasol.
>>28096043
Am I the only one thay feels this could have been a candidate for a Grass/Electric or Poison/Electric mon ?
Still really want to see what will it evolve into.
>>28096752
Eh... it's not really electrical in nature, though. It's more of a chemical thing. Would like a Grass/Electric type, though.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxfire
>>28096783
Oh yeah I know bioluminescence isn't really actual electricity, but it could have been a bit of an excuse for more unique type or one that doesn't belong to a form. I still like Grass/Fairy regardeless.
>>28096837
Well I guess that is the direction they went with Lanturn/Chinchou. But aren't Volbeat/Illumise lightning bugs? They weren't Bug/Electric.
>their leg-like roots
>mushroom
Yeah, no
>>28096043
Why are all non-retcon fairies some small as shit ball with dot eyes
>>28096935
>Xerneas
>Tapu Koko

>>28096678
It's also an upside-down skull.
>>28097165
I see an upside down scrubbin' bubble with mushrooms growing out of it...
Did the filth win?
>>28096043
does look like it
>>28096043
friendly reminder that Morelull is (at least in name) inspired by the morel mushroom. they might incorporate some of these design elements in it's evolution.
>>28096752
My bet is a lampshade mushroom
>>28096707
I was in that thread too.
>>28097093
Legendary
Legendary
An eeveelution that is necessarily a quadrupedal mammal thing
>>28096879

>>28096043
Ok.
>>28096513
Do you even know what a fairy ring is?
>>28096693
That's not what a fairy mound is, dumbass. They're mounds.
>>28096043
>nightlight mushroom
Maybe a Moon exclusive mon?
>>28096043
I love it so much.
It's a walking nightlight. I would stay up late with it and use it as a booklight.
>>28097831
OP here, and WHOA NELLY that nightlight really is just a Morelull
I don't even care if it evolves. This is my favorite alolan pokemon.
>>28096043
OP here again. I also would like to state that Morelull's name comes from the words Morel (a type of mushroom that doesn't really look like Morelull's caps, but it's probably just an English translation thing) and Lull, which is of course to put to sleep. So now it is definitely a nightlight mushroom. Sleep tight, everyone.
>>28098632
It is part Grass-type.
waifumon
>>28096707
>>28098517
I like it a lot.
>>28096043
Stop fooling yourselves. It's obviously inspired by glow-in-the-dark dildos.
It's actually a dildo.
>>28098587
Still proves you wrong.
>>28098309
Like being annoyingly close to Adamantite Ore node timer?
>>28096693
>from Arthurian, Irish, and Gaelic lore
Irish is a subset of Gaelic lore, and Arthurian =/= Brythonic.
You also forgot Germanic folklore. SO really, you should've said "Germanic and Celtic lore".
There's also a difference between Fairy mounds and Fairy rings. Fairy mounds have little to do with mushrooms.
>>28096879
They're hyphae.
