After the shitshow that was the league, I stepped off and watched the original series with my kid, it felt great. I felt like kid again.

And I have to admit, Greminja vs Sceptile was fucking badass, but I feel like if classic pokemon had the same animation quality, it would blow this out of the water.

Either way, Pokemon XY was, for a children's show, very enjoyable even outside of the animation. It's just that due to the high quality of animation, there was literally no point in the series where I thought, "Wow that was shitty animation". Sure they reused a bunch of animation, but I'd rather see animation again rather than see 2 entirely different poorly animated scenes.

I think I got it.

In any of the shows, does Ash every get serious and just wreck somebody in a battle? Not just win, but like, say some member of Team Rocket who isn't Jessie or James is doing something truly fucked up, and Ash just stomps him in a battle and sends him crying home to mommy. Or something like that.
