When/will we get non-humanlike final evolutions of the starters again? They started with the "all starters becoming humanoid" thing in Generation V, and they went even further in Generation VI. Based on the leaks, Generation VII won't be any different.
>GenV
>Serperior
Regardless I think Japan has a hard on for humanlike pokemon and we cant change that.
just accept it and try to avoid the porn. or not. its up to you.
It started as early as gen 3 with Blaziken Tbh. Gen 4 gave us Goku and Napoleon. Torterra was probably the last true animal final form.
>>28021934
What? Infernape and Empoleon are just fancy monkeys/penguins respectively.
Not human at all.

>They started with the "all starters becoming humanoid" thing in Generation V
Ah yes, all the humanoid Gen V starters, Emboar, Emboar and Emboar.
>>28021934
Seriously I know people say Gen V was a shit gen for starters but how do you forget Serperior and Samurott this easy.
>>28021800
Gen III start it,not V
>>28021800
>"all starters becoming humanoid"

>Snake
>humanoid
(You)
>>28021899
>>28021979
Serperior and Samurott still had mostly animalistic shapes, but they were based on nobility and samurais, respectively. They also had traits like Serperior's pseudo cloak and Samurott's armor, swords, and mustache.
>>28021934
>>28021998
It did start there, but there were still Pokémon like Sceptile, Swampert and Torterra which don't really have any real human characteristics.
>>28022005
Serperior is cute! CUTE!
>>28022005
Everyone knows snakes are hominids, duh.
>>28022126
I'd actually argue that the Treeko line behaved pretty human-like during the anime, making Swampert the only blatantly beast-like starter.
It always acted pretty rogue-ish with its habit of crossing its arms when idle and keeping a toothpick in its mouth.
Ash's Greninja reminded me of his Sceptile, in that sense.
Gen 2 feraĺigaor, gen 3 all, gen 4 2/3
>>28022126
>rationalizing Serperior as being more humanlike than Sceptile
what a time to be alive
>>28021800
It makes sense for gen VI, they were meant to be based on the common RPG theme of a tank, mage, and rogue

>being shaped like human clothes is humanoid
>not being shaped like a human with four limbs that stands up right on two legs
The snake is not a humanoid. It's serpentine.
Sableye is more humanoid than Serperior.
No, having part of its appearance be similar to a cape is does not a humanoid pokemon make. There's nothing wrong with pokemon, humanoid or not, with man-made objects, anyway, and they're usually overpowered to boot.
>Braviary has an indian headdress so it's humanoid
>Empoleon has a cravat and somehow isn't included in anon's definition of humanoid
>Aegislash is a literal shield and sword so like Samurott, it is humanoid
>Yveltal has hands so it's humanoid
>implying snakes are primates
Yes, triggered.
>>28021800
I told you niggers Blaziken was a mistake, but you wouldn't listen. Horny furfaggots are the cancer that ruins generation after generation of starters.
>>28025727
>leaf hoodie
>feather hands (seriously, what the fuck?)
>glasses
>arrows
>bow
>>28025773
>human hair
>human accessories
>human body language (opera singer)
>can stand on its tail because starters aren't allowed to be not bipedal in neoGameFreak
Can't wait until gen 8 when all starters are bipedal mammals
>>28022126
Lizards don't stand up for long periods anon.
Blaziken is when they first started doing it. And now that they know how popular Blaziken is they're doing it with pretty much every starter now.
>>28021800
blame furries.
>>28021800
>gen 5

The 'glasses' are markings seen in certain Owl species like the Brown Wood Owl and used to emphasize Rowlet3's eyesight. Its bow is its wing and arrows are feathers. Honestly, it's just a stylized owl that has a 'grass' hoodie to convey its Grass typing.
