I think Victribell might be better than Venusaur because of Stun Spore/Wrap cheese. It also gets Razor Leaf early on.

I played through red and blue so many times because my parents were poor and all I had was a gameboy and red/blue until emerald I think I've had all possible team.

Bought yellow on the VC but I don't think I'll ever finish it. It's such a shit game compared to red/blue.

I personally hate charizard but it's the best gen1 fire pokèmon, his main problem is his TM cost, you HAVE to wast a lot of good TM oon him in order to getting good.
If you want to change, for a fire type I suggest ninetailss for his access to fire-spin and confussion ray

Aerodactyl- basically the only one from my original team. Why can't it learn any rock moves?

Persian: Slash and Bubblemeam. It also had Pay Day for giggles, and I think something else, but really, what more do you need?
Fearow. Drill Peck is sexy, but Mirror Move meant that Fearow managed to score all sorts of unlikely KOs.
