Something I like to do is add a second post to someone else's leak if the OP didn't use a tripcode. That one "full pokedex" leak people fell for? I added like 10 more legendaries to the end and made up a bunch of Alola forms and people ate that shit up because OP didn't use a tripcode.

No one fell for Roothoot, shitposters spammed it because it was just too ridiculous.
You can notice a pattern there, if the "leak" contains the most bullshit info you've ever seen, people will "believe" it. But if a leak has actual proof, people will call fake on the spot.
It's all about attention whoring and (You) farming, mixed with the typical 4chan contrarian culture

It's funny though because when Roothoot and friends originally were posted on here they were instantly dismissed and people moved on, but then the Japanese starter names were found on that trademark website and suddenly Roothoot and only Roothoot was being spammed, all because it was an owl and Grass-type. The spam stopped after a while and now it's fucking back, sort of, with people saying it'll be the middle evolution to Rowlet. But once again those people are only paying attention to Roothoot and not the two that came along with it, just like when it was originally spammed.
