I'll only play the old ones on the SP. I don't know I was able to use my gbc when I was little since I can barely even see the screen.

My time is very valuable. I can't sit through them like I could as a kid. Fast Forwarding 16x or even 32x is an absolute must on these frustrating turn based, random attack games. Getting through caves is torture.

I added a frontlight and new speaker to my old gbc so could play red/crystal at night. I've been playing the originals on 3ds recently, so hopefully they release gen 2 soon.

Sometimes I'll boot up Blue on my old Game Boy just to walk around. Unfortunately there's nothing left for me to do, but it's a nice nostalgia trip before I get frustrated by the lack of a backlight.

OP here, that's why I'm replaying yellow right now. I finished the dex on the 3ds port and I want to complete it on gsc, so I figure I'll start with yellow and get the starters, fossils, and legendaries, then move on to Crystal.

Not a genwunner. Been playing since 1998 but I'm a fan of all the generations. Just finished a playthrough of Y, and did White and White 2 before that.

This is stupid as fuck. I was on a 6 hour bus ride cross country for a business trip and this faggot beside me was playing FRLG I think using the GBA. I had the window seat so I was blocking the light while I was using my 3DS to hatch eggs in XY. I used to speedrun pokemon blue on my SP

I prefer emulation to be honest. It just feels better. Also official emulation like the virtual console is even better. Love Blue on the 3ds

I gave away my old GB and Pokemon Yellow to my kid cousin over a decade ago, so the oldest GB I have is an SP.

I still play it from time to time, though the power switch is starting to get a tad jacked for some reason.
