The 3D models for pokemon shit on all past sprites, GF has always been shit at spriting and has always had a shitty low res screen to work.

Decent sprites require at least a 360p screen.

Nice graphics are nice to have, while the core gameplay is certainly the most important it's better to have a total package where the graphics are good as well.

Gen V's battle graphics were the worst in the series. I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to only make pokémon sprites as big as the ones seen on the ennemy side in gen 4 when the only times it's actually shown that they're the same size is during musicals and in the hall of fame, but it was pointless and made the whole thing look like a giant cluster of pixels in a basic 3D scene.

No actually. Although better graphics look better, I'd rather stick to the simple sprites of the older games (i.e. Pre DS) but I'm not trying to discourage people from playing the newer games and or persuade to change the new games back.
