My problem with Colossand's design isn't that it's a sandcastle, it's that it's LITERALLY JUST A SANDCASTLE.

Pokemon like Banette, Chandelure, and Aegislash work, because possessed dolls, haunted furniture, and cursed swords fit well with a ghost theme, and because they actually look like ghosts.

Now if they made Colossand look like a haunted castle that happened to me made of sand, it'd be fine. But it's just... an ordinary sandcastle but it eats people. It's seriously just a sandcastle.

And that's ignoring it's pre-evo, which is LITERALLY A PILE OF SAND WITH A FACE.

Palossand will drag Pokemon into its body and under the sand to drain their life force, effectively killing them. The spirits of these Pokemon killed are full of grudges, and it is the negative grudges that have a chance of forming new Sandygast.
