So how do you guys handle "Showdown" the team, if at all?
I don't want to use the same 10 Pokemon everyone is using but at the same time I almost never win. I could just be shit of course but the teams are still annoying

git gud
but honestly, if you really want to start winning against meta teams like that, you'll have to start using meta mons. Unless you're a pro player, you won't be able to win with too much deviation.
Also, don't be that fag who's sub-1100 and brags about how much better he is than good players because he "doesn't use the same exact team".

I'd have no one to brag to but my wall anyway.
Also that sucks that I'm basically restricted to playing "The Meta" basically.

In my experience, you can start playing and winning with unorthodox teams once you get a feel for the meta.
I use a speed boost baton pass ninjask to a trevanent super tanky
I just use my usual team and hope for the best
