I really only caught and used the Rat line to fill up the dex back in the day.

When RBY was rereleased on VC I decided to use it until I got to the end of the gyms. Rat bro was a lot of fun. As far as the route 1 trashmon goes it was surprisingly satisfying. Hyper Fang can be brutal in battle.

Raticate is actually pretty good early in RB ecause its fast and gets Hyper Fang so quick which is absurd with STAB
