fish three times on every square in the lake and you're pretty much guaranteed to run into a feebas at some point. It takes a while but isn't that hard to do

I fished 5 times per square to be safe and then moved to the left after. Feebas isn't actually difficult to find since you can go through the whole lake in a half hour.

Back in gen 2 Teddiursa and Phanpy were also super rare, only a 5% chance to appear in the morning, and would try to run away when you encounter them

I found one once when looking for a female combee. Ended up catching but not using it.

I remember waiting on these trees to bring me an Aipom and Munchlax.
Got my Aipom but never got a Munchlax from them. I didn't know you had to go through all this though.

The problem is that Munchlax is an extreme example of this.
