sorry if this sound really stupid, but can you trade mega stone from OR/AS to XY? and use the megas from it?
i just bought a 3ds last week and my sister gave me her copy of Alpha Sapphire, i haven't played X/Y yet so i'm wondering if it's possible to use my megas from AS

You can trade the mega stones that existed in XY, including the Lati stones, but none of the other new introductions.
Not being able to use Mega Beedrill or Mega Pidgeot through XY was a disappointment.

The fact that Game Freak refuses to patch them into XY is infuriating.
Their staunch refusal to update their previous games to still be compatible when it's the easiest thing in the world these days has made me seriously question whether I want to support them or not. I'm going to see how they handle stuff with Sun and Moon before I decide for sure.
