Yep. X and Y were really great. ORAS was a shithole. replayed recently to make sure it wasn't just buyer's remorse. Really didn't like it.

Not a mistake since it was a financial success, but definitely my least-enjoyed Pokemon experience. Any nostalgia I had for Hoenn was washed away.

Yes, because there was so much potential that would've been easy to reach and they squandered it. It's only half of what it should've been, in a way.

I still think it's still pretty good for what it is though.

i did for comparison. while the game feels easy and I'm not encouraged to go in the grass for the majority of the story, there was still character to it.

Small things, like character customization, the restaurants, fairy typing, and the roller skates made the games a lot more enjoyable.

ORAS made all the same mistakes as X and Y then added more mistakes to the pile as well.

The result is what feels like a short and rushed generation.
