Bird type was just a prototype for Flying-type

It's the reason Doduo and Dodrio are Flying-types despite not being able to fly, they renamed it because it would make no sense to call Charizard, Zubat, or Aerodactyl "Bird" types

And Psyduck and Golduck have more in common with platypi than ducks, hence why they have claws instead of wings, mammal-like tails, and are unable to breed with other bird-like Pokemon.
