The last 5 episodes would be about Ash maturing while he has to defeat the bad guys, and after a long, hard battle he will protect Kalos from them.

At the end, he will realize that he needs to go back to its roots and start again, is not his pokemon, its him. He is the one that needs to improve, mature and look ahead.

Pikachu will feel sad and won't accept it, but Ash is determined to do so. He will return to Kanto and start from scratch, he will catch his first pokemon by himself again, and he will conquer the Kanto league, So he leaves Pikachu behind, telling it he is sorry but to trust him.

Pikachu will find a way to become the first pokemon from a new main character introduced in Alola, and they will start an adventure together to become a man by surpassing the Alolan totem trials. In the end they will face a grown up Ash whose main pokemon is a pidgeot, the first pokemon Ash captured by himself. And when Ash beats the MC, pikachu will understand that he needed to be by himself.

In the end pikachu and MC substitute Ash, while he goes on to try and beat the Johto league.
