It's almost like ash actually had character this time and was a respectable trainer with a fully evolved (minus Pikachu) team

The only reason he lost in Sinnih is because they created a character with only legendaries, and ash beat 2 of them, and no one had touched the first one yet.

It would be like if Asg lost to Paul or Gary in the finals

Indigo League was different, Ash lost because he couldn't properly train or command respect from his pokemon - Charizard would have WRECKED Sparky had he actually listened to Ash.

Silver and Hoenn league he lost to a trainer with slightly more experience than him.

Sinnoh League he lost because the writers pulled in a Deus Ex Diablos for literally no reason.

Unova League, Ash lost because he got thrown up against an idiot Gary Sue who had a fucking evolution happen in the middle of a quarter final battle.

In Kalos League, Ash lost because he fucking BAITED THE GUY WITH A LITERAL GOD MODE CHARIZARD into fighting him, for fucking no reason. He then proceeded to not call on any of his powerhouses that he keeps at Oak's, and instead use pokemon that have no place in a Finals match.

So yeah, every league was different. Well, not Johto and Hoenn, but Hoenn was the worst region anyways.

Also ashes team is probably the strongest we'be seen it. Goodra got fucked over, Halwucha was good in like everything but this battle too. It was bullshit to watch


Also, want to hear the real kick in the balls, Alain only did the tournament because ash suggested him to do it so he could fight ash. Ash could have won if he didn't say anything

Ashinja currently has no feats at all - sure he knocked down Gardevoir, but she didn't faint at all - she got right back up.

Ash has several stronger pokemon at home, which he should have called on instead. 4/6 of his pokemon in these finals could have been replaced with better pokemon that Ash keeps in reserve.
