What is objectively the best designed pokemon? Not necessarily your favorite, just the one you think has the best design.
>>27892723
nidoking and houndoom
>>27892723
Pikachu.
Next question.
>>27892751
ow the edge
>>27892723
This is a dumb question. Make it harder
If i didn't think the majority of designs where stellar I wouldn't be interested in the franchise to begin with so it's hard to name a best
>>27892761
This or charizard. Doesn't matter if you like them or not, they have near flawless designs or they wouldn't have been so successfull in becoming the image of pokemon.
Quite honestly, rhydon is the quintessential pokemon design, but it isn't as popular.
>>27892761
pikachu's design isn't necessarily the best, they could've picked any pokemon as the mascot and it would have been just as popular
First one is always the best.
>>27892855
Their designs aren't popular because they're good, they're popular because they're what 90's kids immediately associate with Pokémon
itt post your fav pokemon
>>27892885
Ok.
>>27892941
we can make a thread about that instead. Right now we're having legit discussion.
>>27892931
If there's something you inmediately associate with pokemon, that IS the perfect pokemon design, since it represents what a pokemon is. The fact 90s kids, the original audience, created that association only cements charizard's near flawless design.
Don't get me wrong, I honetly dont think its the best pokemon, he's on my bottom 100 at best, but it IS a great design to have made such an impact
>>27892723
>asks for "objective" best
>just the one you think has the best design
You, like everyone else on this website, have no idea what objective means.if that was b8 then I fell for it, congrats
>>27892985
not a gen 1 pokemon, also you know what i mean
>>27892723
Shedinja is up there, but it's probably not the best gen 3 design. (that's Metagross)
Let's see top 2 for every gen:
1: Pikachu, Snorlax
2: Scizor, Herracross
3: Metagross, Flygon
4: Lucario, Torterra
5: Reuniclus, Archeops
6: Aegislash, Jobber Greninja
>>27892999
op here
i only used objective because i couldn't think of a better way of putting it. the topic is posting what you think is the best, not based on personal preference
ITT: explain your answers
If this was an english essay then you would all fail for not including evidence to support your claim
Pikachu in all honesty. It can be used in a variety of roles easily.
It can look smug, cool and cute. Simple design and color scheme too so easy on the eyes.
>>27893027
why is lucario in there, i mean I like him don't get me wrong but i wouldn't consider it a top tier design in terms of realising its concept
on the other hand
>opinions
so its all moot really
Gyarados.
>>27893027
>Lucario
>random and useless spikes
>weird dreadlock ear things that don't really look like either
>ugly tail
>fucking jorts
'no'
>>27892893
First is Bulbasaur, retard.
>>27893393
He obviously meant first designed, retard
>>27893393
wew
>>27893198
>>27893390
Lucario is there for the same reason Pikachu is.. and because Gen IV has the least amount of great designs.
>>27893426
Still Bulbasaur, moron.
>>27893489
>not including toxicroak or porygon z
How do you sleep at night? Lucario is the essence of overdesigned.
>>27893594
Lucario was based of anubis, it really isn't that overdesigned. I don't like it, but that doesnt mean its a bad design. (the spikes are too much though)
Also
>not mentioning gliscor, mamoswine, weavile, staraptor, infernape, luxray, floatzel, abomasnow, garchomp, and every legendary
You should be just as ashamed
Best pokémon ever created.

Heracross
>>27892885
if they went through with their original intention and used Clefairy as their mascot I have no doubt in my mind the franchise would be nowhere near as popular.
Pikachu perfectly represents Pokemon. Its odd coloration indicates both the fact it's a magical creature and that it's an electric type. It's adorable, but powerful, which encompasses a large majority of Pokemon and guarantees appeal to both boys and girls. And though its design isn't realistic you can clearly tell it's a rodent of some kind, indicating that a large number of Pokemon are essentially animals with super powers.
Finally, it has a unique, catchy, universally recognizable name that's easy to remember. I love this little bastard.
Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo and Lucario. I fucking hate Lucario, but they must have done something right.
>>27892723
One of the most clever pokemon designs in my opinion, Probably in my top 5 favorite mons.
>>27894564
This. Pikachu is the perfect representation of a pokemon. Just mundane enough to exist, just fantastical enough not to.
>>27892751
perfect
I actually really like Abra. The fox-like shape and powers are great, and in the case of the latter I don't think telekinesis/teleportation has been used as the basis for a Pokemon since.
Also, that brownish gold is absolutely a very mundane color while still being a good, obvious "Psychic" color without resorting to the eyeburner pinkish purple.
I fuckin' love Abra.
Pretty solid
>>27894208
>implying weavile isnt top tier
stop proyecting, senpai
>>27892723
Impossible to accurately determine. For starters, based on what factors? And what standard? What does it take for a cartoon monster designed for kids to be the best?
