Aura Sphere is poorly distributed as it would be a godsend for many special attackers that rely on Fighting coverage. Fighting is one of the best coverage types and special attackers(offensive pokemon that lack a status and abilities that neuters them) with a Focus Blast alternative would be ridiculous.

It's supposed to have shit distribution, because it's supposed a special move that only a select few Pokemon can learn. It's telling that Lucario and Togekiss were the only non-legendaries to learn it in Gen 4.

Focus Blast is the stronger, but less accurate version that other Pokemon have to settle for.
