It does, every encounter gives you a rough 1/312 chance of shiny. Every time. And if you chain you have a chance of that lucky pop having an HA or good IVs, but best of all it's spontanious with none of the prep needed to use masuda method. Relatively fast too. synchronize helps too if you plan on using a shiny outside of contests/trophying.

I caught a shiny ponyta in the friend safari yesterday and gave it to a guy who had work to at 1:00 AM to be nice.

Right now hunting for shuckle since its one of my top 3 mons and it's one of the few shinies I think looks as good as the regular.

Novice shiny hunter here and have a question. I know that if you send out a pokemon with synchronize it has a 50% to pass its nature but if you switch it out will it still pass the nature?

Yeah, it only needs to be in the lead. You can switch it out during the battle. Hell it can even be fainted as long as it is in the lead.
