How would you buff the grass type /vp/?
Let's be honest, it needs one. It has 5 weaknesses, and is not very effective against 7 types.
1 - I'd remove that x2 weakness to flying. Grass types being weak to flying types never really made sense to me. Birds live in trees, but for the most part never harm them, except for woodpeckers I guess. Trees get knocked over during tornadoes and hurricanes, but so do lots of other things. That weakness needs to go, it is so arbitrary and I never saw anyone question it because it's been there since gen 1.
2 - Grass does neutral damage against steel now. Main reason for this is the fact that abandonned buildings eventually get overrun by vegetation.
3 - All grass types regain 1/16 of their HP in sunlight and rain. Basically a weather dependant leftovers.
Wha do y'all think?

1 - Yes
2 - No
3 - No

Make it resist fighting
>>27845668
Ice needs it more

By your logic scarecrows just committed suicide.
Say bbye to cacturn.

?
Explain?
>>27845774
oh yeah, I frogot that some birds eat crops.
Make them resist Fairy.

Grass now isn't weak to flying or poison. Both of those are things thta work WITH, not AGAINST plants, it makes no sense.
Grass now resists steel like fire and water do too, and resists fairy and fighting. Because fairies work around nature, so they need it, and fighting a tree or bush generally doesnt work out very well.
Grass now deals neutral damage against flying and poiso for the reasons listed above.
Is this good?

Fighting a tree isn't a big issue against someone that punches through steel.
>>27845708
No to 2? Really? It makes sense to me. At tbe very least OP didn't say it would be supereffective against Steel.
>All grass types regain 1/16 of their HP in sunlight and rain
Grass types already have a special snowflake bonus of being immune to spores and seed, let's not add any more
Think of grass types like Nature rather than plants when you're thinking of their type match ups. That'll fix gamefreak's obsession with fucking it over.
Water types are given grass's poison match ups. This means the grass loses the weakness and poison no longer resists grass, but now water types have that shit because water desperately needs a nerf.
Grass now resists Fairy cuz fairies don't want to hurt nature.
Grass now resists Steel just like Fire and Water do.
Grass type moves now do bonus damage in the sun.

Mate, a lot of types have special snowflake traits.
Fire types can't be burned.
Poison types can't be poisoned
Electric types can't be paralyzed.
Ghost types can't be trapped.
Rocks get bonus special defense in sand.
Rock/steel/ground aren't affected by sand storm
Ice types aren't affected by hail

Remove its weaknesses to Poison and Flying and give it a resistance to either Steel and Fighting or Rock and Fighting. This way Grass will two new usefull resistances and also get rid of a crippling weakness.

Go punch grass.
>plants are some of the only living things that don't give a shit about hurricanes
>plants have been weaponizing poisons for a billion years
>a shit ton of plants don't give a shit about the cold
>overgrowth can destroy and crush cars
I hate this "plants can be bullied by every single type" meme.
Grass does not need buffing. It's a fantastic support type with many forms of recovery and resists the omnipresent Water.
Contrary to the shitters on /vp/, Ice does NOT need buffing. More offensive Ice mons like Weavile are needed. There's a reason most special attackers run Ice coverage, it's a disgustingly good offensive type.
Rock does not need buffing. More offensive rock mons like Terrakion are needed. There's a reason many physical attackers run Rock coverage, it's a fantastic offensive type.
Bug is the type that desperately needs to be buffed.
>Resisted by SEVEN TYPES
>Everything Bug can do defensively, Flying can do better
>Hits Dark, Psychic, Grass for SE, which is barely useful
>Nearly every viable Bug type would still be viable - some even more so, like Pinsir - without the Bug typing. The only exception is Mega Heracross.
>RESISTED BY SEVEN TYPES WHAT THE FUCK
>Resists Ground, Grass, and Fighting, which Flying does BETTER
>Lowest BST average across any type

I accidentally posted the Flying type thing twice. Goddamn does that piss me off.
>>27845941
Grass being weak to poison makes sense though.
>>27847114
I thought it was kinda funny anon
I do agree that bug needs a buff, maybe it should resist fairy and be super effective against it? Ice could use a water resistance and grass could use a fairy resistance. Also steel could use another weakness, electric maybe?
