Rowlet and Pikipek have the same niche. It's not about what TYPE they are but what role they fulfill AS that type.

As someone who originally thought Serena would leave, I'm actually leaning toward her sticking around this time. There's no real "rule" that the main girl always has to leave, its just something the writers had always done for advertising purposes. Serena getting a new customized design and then adding Mallow as the Brock/Cilan character could work well.

I dunno, I think its stupid to put so much emphasis on Serena's crush and then promote the hell out of it in both anime episodes and with magazines just to kill it off. I can't imagine any girl following Serena to have as much hype surrounding her.

Dawn's popularity as a co-star and character is probably the only reasons he got a BW cameo. Dawn had no real reason to be in BW at all and you could tell the writers had no idea how to use her...but they just gave her a cameo anyway because they knew she was liked.
