Don't bother with Dittos unless you get lucky or need male-only/genderless Pokémon. Rather ask around in /wfg/ for parents of different egg groups and work from there.

Ask around for Dittos, sure you can find some hacked ones somewhere for free. Then try breeding an arsenal of commonly used competitive pokes, should make your breeding easier once you have stuff in the same egg group and such when passing down egg moves

Honestly wouldn't recommend serious breeding unless you get a hacked 6IV Ditto, but yes dexnaving Dittos for at least a 4IV one is otherwise the way to go

If yoy catch your own ditto, make sure you either do it in a different game, or catch one, bank it, then restart the game.
Otherwise you're going to be stuck with the longer egg-making time.

Also try wondertrade. A lot of people whirl away their breeding rejects which are likely to have 4-5 ivs

We know nothing about how hard it is to accumulate Bottle Caps. They could be Ability Capsule tier for all we know. If you want to breed some pokes, go ahead.

You'll have a good baseline to start any breeding project from. Breeding becomes exponentially quicker the more you do it and the bigger your stock of parents gets. You can definitely get to a point where it is substantially faster than hyper training will be.

Just wait for SM. To prepare for it

>Ask for ditto from someone from a different region.
>Grind it to level 100 (will be easy as shit thanks to lucky eggs, o-powers, blissily bases, and the massive exp bonus foriegn Pokemon get)
>Plug it into hyper training in SM when it releases
