I use nothing but Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon, no matter what the game. While I enjoy the updated graphics, battle mechanics, extras etc. of the new games, I don't like any of the new Pokemon.

Obviously, I skipped B/W. Hoenn was a pain in the ass, too, I broke down in Emerald and got a Zigzagoon.

I give certain Pokemon 'plot armor' so that they don't die when they're killed. I purposely sacrifice my starter when it evolves to it's second stage though.

Whenever I finish a nuzlocke, I put on Sound of Silence while I release the Pokemon individually. Then, I transfer the team I won with to Gen 6 and max their affectection in Amie. They can live happily and peacefully.
My Crystal Nuzlocke team is trapped forever, though.

I plan my final team to each solo a member of the league with my main pokemon soloing the champion. It's usually Tyranitar.

Opposite to 99% of people, I love to give nicknames. I have an excel spreadsheet with every Pokemon listed and a column for potential nickname so that I can keep track of them. Even if I hate the Pokemon, if I own/catch/carry it I have to name it, like the Bidoof I called "HM 00" and kept boxed as much as possible.

My reasoning was that Steven had quit as champion in Emerald, and i thought the MCs's artwork looked a bit older than in RS.

I'm a pokemon purityfag. I never breed pokemon for use in-game. My partners in battle are the exact individuals I encountered in the wild, beat respect into, then extended the hand of friendship to. I also never teach them Attract. Because I don't want them slutting around.

I used to soft reset for natures for in game team but I don't want to for Sun and Moon. I want to just play it like a dumb 6 year old who just got their first Pokemon game and learn everything from the people I talk to.

I have balltism, but so far it's been in the "Pokeballs Only" way. I'd love to put each of my new Pokemon in Sun and Moon in a different Pokeball asked on what fits them best, but I feel like it's not possible for your story team.

Maybe Sun and Moon will finally let you change the type of ball your Pokemon was caught in afterwards.

Always use an equal number of Pokemon as the gym leader when I battle them.

Only use Pokemon that originated or have a new evolution in the region I'm in. For example, I could use Porygon in Kanto, Johto or Sinnoh, but Swellow is only usable in Hoenn. I broke this rule in White 2 only.

I have an entire gay anime-esque story that runs through the games written down somewhere. It runs through the order of the gens, except gen 3 happens first and ORAS happens after XY because of some class reunion for the MCs taking place at the Pokemon School in Rustboro where the MCs met.

I always use the team as the male player. For instance, in Unova, the starters were all to and before he had a chance, so I didn't use a starter on my team. Instead, his/my starter was a Blitzle.

Every main character has a Pokemon not used by any other main character. No one else uses a Zebstrika besides the male player.

The male players are all the same guy. Serena is a different girl while all the other girls are the same person. Barry first appears in Hoenn, inspired by Emerald from the manga. When he comes back for the class reunion, he's essentially Aarune, and he brings Krys, who is now essentially Lissia.

Zinnia and Bianca were best friends in Kanto and traveled with the players and the rival. Zinnia shows up in Sinnoh and then ORAS Hoenn and Bianca in both arcs of Unova.

There's a lot more to it but I'm beginning to embarrass myself.

I keep my SS game as my relaxing game. It's never been in contact with any of my other games. Never traded with anyone, never transfered pokemon to it or transfer from it. Whenever I want to relax I play it, breed, catch a few pokemons, talk to people, travel to places just to see them, call people, battle a few trainers. It's a comfy as fuck game.

I can't have more than 2 Pokemon in my team with the same body archetype.

As in I refuse to have 3 bipedal pokemon, or 3 with wings, or 3 4 legged Pokemon.

I also apply the same rule to color schemes, I like to keep it varied.

I always put my lowest level Pokemon at the top of my list and they must all be levelled equally. If my lowest level is a Normal type and the opponent uses Ghost, I will still fight the Ghost with that Normal type.

I have to have gender bent Pokémon exclusively. Meaning male gardevoir, female machamp, etc.

I only catch with priemer balls or specialty balls. Especially apricot balls from SS. I have a shiny gardevoir in a moon ball that I adore.
