Since SM is breaking traditions, are you going to play the game traditionally with a team of 6 Pokemon or are you going to try something different to make it fresh?
Personally, since there's a ton of new Pokemon I like and Alola forms too, if the rumors about 16 island trials are real, I'm going to use one Pokemon per trial, and then choose the best 6 for the Elite 4.
Are you planning anything? Any ideas? Pic unrelated

I never end up using 6 viable pokemon on my team. I always end up with 3 or 4 fighters and 2 HM slaves.

I'm probably going to use a full team, though I like the idea of switching out my team between the trials. I might try it.

I kind of like this idea, but I don't know how well I'd be able to actually pull it off. Part of me wants to challenge each one with a group of three Pokemon that match the typing of the challenge leader, but that'll probably be even more awkward to get working.
Most likely I'll just have five mons I've never tried but like the look of, Gen7 or not, to run through it with.
