Well, perhaps that actually ends up being a plot point that leads Ash's dumb ass to Alola in the first place.
Ash finds out where Oak got Pikachu in the first place, and decides to take Pika there to "discover its origins". Leading to as usual Ash discovering the Alola region's trials and shit, and thus beginning another day in the life of Ash the faggot.
