Why the fuck does it matter? Though it'd be cool if there were trainers who'd trade Mons and could then be battled, and they'd have your nicknamed Mon on their team.

Bruh, chill, it doesn't matter. I just think it's a simple edit on gamefreaks part that would add an extra layer of personality to random trainers and the grunts/admins/leaders of teams. I'm not dying over here for it.

You'll never know how trainers nickname their pokemon

It would go a long way to making semi-important characters memorable and Gym Leader's top pokemon feel important. Along with a nickname, their top should have perfect IVs and a good nature too so you feel like it is at least a bit dangerous.

I'm surprised they didn't do it with Shauna's pokemon in X and Y.

What I'm wondering is if we'll ever find an NPC trainer who claims to be exploring or having trouble with wild pokemon, and have some of their party not be in perfect health.
