Considering since that looks kinda like a mega bracelet, and that meganium has a weird look to it and looks different than other meganium, and that apparently only Kanto starters are getting alola forms, I say it's a pretty good chance we are getting new megas, most people are just saying that there aren't no more megas because none have been revealed yet

Sun and Moon is the last set of games before the official reboot of the franchise.

After the reboot, Megas will become final evolutions for those lines, and forms will be a regional thing.

I also think that games will no longer be released in pairs, since there's no need to encourage trading anymore. It was fine to force 90s children to interact with each other, but people are gonna trade and battle now regardless.
