It takes 1 min 46 seconds to reset your 3DS and then battle Thundurus, catch him and open the stats screen. And that's not counting things like checking for his speed in battle. By the way, it's a bitch to check for his speed. Because he has Prankster and 2 status moves, you have to account for that and do something like what I'm doing, which is lead with a Tornadus who has exactly 143 speed. Timid 31 IV Thundurus has 144 speed so if he outspeeds you you know you wanna catch him. However because he has Prankster, you to need to use a priority move. So I start off with Taunt, and if he tried to use a status move, then we're all good. But if he uses an offensive move, I too have to use an offensive move on the next turn. And then he might roll high on his Discharge which will KO me, forcing me to switch in my backup Pokemon (Kyurem, also with 143 speed). It's very annoying and it definetely takes a lot more time to SR for Thundurus than any other legendary in this game.

Those were roaming, yeah? I didn't bother with those. I did SR for a nice Heatran, it had almost perfect IV's and a HP Grass if I remember correctly.

Dream Balls since a lot of them aren't obtainable as easily anymore. Beyond that, stuff like Safari Ball Tauros are basically wild caught only, and the hordes from HGSS in various Apricorn balls are pretty rare. Balltism is only part of it. If you manage cool EMs and decent IVs on top, you have some really good trade bait on your hands.
