I only use regular pokeball for every Mon I catch. I don't even know why. I usually give my master ball to my hm slave so I dont get frustrated and use it on a legendary or something.

Also if I have a team in mind then I will only use premier balls to catch those specific 6 Pokemon. If you cannot catch the pokemon in the wild I struggle to justify putting it in my pve team because it will have a regular ball

In Crystal I would pick out one of the female trainers and pretend they were my girlfriend in game and I would call them every so often on the poke gear to talk to them

I always use pokemon that look relatively similar and I only have like a max of four different colors between them so they look good together. If I start with a mammal all my other pokemon are mammals, with lizards I also use dragons, dinosaurs and birds because to me it's close enough. The worst part about this is the only mammal pokemon that can learn fly is the bat ones so I'm stuck using them a lot of the time. I used smeargle when I played through with chespin though because the colors were close enough.

Actually how much I care for these random Johto NPCs migh count as autism in and on itself. I think it gave a nice sense of the trainers making friends and keeping tabs on each other during the journey.
I always liked the little quriks and character they have, even if they're all one note, and used to imagine how they would react if around each other, instead of just interacting with the player character.

What about exploding shinies? Damp is a shit ability so it's unlikely you will have that with you, and you're not always going to have arena trap or shadow tag either unless you're expecting to run into a shiny. I almost always save my masterball too.

I arrange all my mons' attacks until I like the layout. Low level pokemon that learn a status move before a damage move make me reeee and swap them.

Before I save I walk out of a pokemon center so it's like I just walked out when I open the game again.

On a playthrough I try to keep all my team members the same level

This isn't too bad, and I'm sure other people do it too. I only save the game in Pokemon centers. Specifically in the middle of the Pokeball symbol on the floor. I know you can save anywhere, but I treat them like Final Fantasy save points or something. I won't stop until I get to a Pokemon Center to save.
I got into the habit of always saving in the Pokemon Center in Red because Pokemon Stadium required that for something. It's been so long I forget what. But I know that you had to be in the Pokemon Center for some reason when using the transfer pack with Pokemon Stadium.

Caught a Zubat in Granite Cave, encountered one at the same level as mine, wanted to prove mine was the superior Zubat. Used bite, brought it down to low health. Enemy Zubat used supersonic and it kept hitting the mark even after multiple turns of "broke out of its confusion!", mine kept missing every time so I was adamant that I had to out-supersonic it to death and refused to finish it off with any other move.

All team members have to be at the same level and are levelled at intervals or 2 or 5 levels each, then they are switched out/rotated. (Possibly pretty common, I think.)

I can't leave Route 110 until I have my shiny Modest Electrike.

Even though I already have a Jolly Magikarp for my team, It's in a great ball and I'm not sure about how I feel about two Pokémon in my team being in a great ball, so I'm thinking of chaining for a shiny one when I get access to new ones.

Can't use any other Water Pokémon than Gyarados, I've been trying to break this cycle for 18 years now but it always has to be on my team for at least some time during a playthrough. (With the exception of my first BW playthrough)

Like to imagine the whole playthrough as if I'm actually there, imagining and RPing out full sequences of events, and when I'm not playing I'm thinking about what I would be doing or how I'd be interacting with the characters/my Pokémon. It's fun.

Can't save where you can see NPCs on the screen, the exception is the Pokémon centre but I always have to save in the very corner where there would be less people. It's like my anxiety extends to Pokémon, too.

As a kid I made sure all of my Pokemon were equal level, except my starter, who was two levels higher than all the others. I would sort them by HP, so the lowest HP mon would go first (it was "lowest" and had to level up first).

Because of the Gender Attack glitch (female Pokemon always had low attack IVs), I almost exclusively used Male Pokemon. I remember catching different genders of the same Pokemon in Silver and comparing them to figure out if there were any differences- I think I (wrongly) concluded that females had better defense to make up for the worse attack.

I gave both up around Gen IV or V, can't remember which.

Now I soft-reset for decent natures and IVs on my legendaries, and I also breed my own Pokemon for competition, which is autistic as fuck in it's own way.

I soft reset almost any time I can for a shiny pokemon. I bought hg on release day and it took me a year to get to the e4.

When I'm done playing, I save in a Pokecenter, my room or my secret base. I need a safe place to sleep...

I only catch legendaries in Pokeballs.

I will only Surf and Fly on Pokemon that are realistically large enough to do so.
Similarly, I will only use the other field moves with Pokemon that seem realistically capable of performing the task. Dig with Onix, Flash with Volbeat, Strength and Rock Smash with Machoke, Rock Climb with Drapion, ext, you get the point.

Pokemon on my in game team need natures that best suit their battle style and characteristics that best suit my idea of how I can personally imagine them. I also EV train them and they all must be in Pokeballs only.

I nickname every single pokemon I catch, even if it's just shitmons that will stay in the box forever. I also bring every single pokemon with me when transferring between games, so there's like 900+ of them now, all nicknamed various mundane names like Wilbur or Sally.

I don't know why, but for the gen 6 games I've played: Pokemon X and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, I've used way too many pokemon as my main ones, even before the Elite Four. As for Alpha Sapphire: Swampert, Swellow, Breloom, Gardevoir, Slaking, Hariyama, Aggron, Altaria, Cosplay Pikachu, Camerupt, and Heracross. A fish and basically a Lapras. IIRC they represented a Pokemon's primary egg group but I'm not certain.

I organize PC boxes and plan them for the long term. In Gen1 VC I had Box 1 for the first 20 Pokemon, Box 2 for 21-40 etc. In Gen 6 I have a bunch of boxes where Pokemon are placed in order with empty space if I don't have the right Pokemon for that spot (ie a box for the starter Pokemon will have Typhlosion in the 4th column in the first row even if I don't have any Kanto starters, and I place them in Fire/Water/Grass because that's how Gen 1 ordered them on the table iirc).

My balltism. Before the wifi shutdown for DS games I genned a bunch in BW and B2W2, and since the transporter could detect anything non-legit so I had to set everything to look legit, but I rebred them in XY for safe measures. After the wifi shutdown I now ocassionally play HGSS for balltism.

It all started because I wanted a HA female Eevee with hyper voice to evolve into Sylveon.

Scyther and Kabutops have scythe arms.

Magmar and Electabuzz are both elemental bipedal monsters with tails.

Absolutely no type overlap whatsoever. Generally I try to use only dual types. but that's not a hard and fast rule. Didn't start doing this until recently, but I also have to have a Fire/Water/Grass core

Special and Physical attackers and defenders must be balanced. If I go mixed, I need another mixed to balance it out.

All nicknames must fit whatever theme I've chosen for the run, and every poke must get a nickname, even if it's never leaving the box. I've left games on pause for days coming up with nicknames for utterly inconsequential pokes.

Team gender ratio's gotta be 3:3, unless I need a genderless poke to for typing, in which case 3:2:1 is fine, too.

I always keep all my pokemon on the same level. When one of them level up, I move them to the bottom of the party and move the others up the party. If they get 2 levels ahead of the others then they will stay at the bottom until they are all the same level.

I absolutely do not move on until I have catched all the new unique evolutionary lines on a route, including females for babies and non-base forms, and duplicates for split evos. The XY Exp. Share is actually a godsend because it allows me to quickly level up and evolve my non-fighters while I do this.

Pokemon have to be different colors and different shades. Preferably ROYGBI. In addition, always 3 male and 3 female, and never duplicate typing.

Pokemon had to be in plain Pokeballs. Now I match the color schemes. Will rebreed if in a shitty ball.

Every legendary I capture is given a real name (i.e. Felicia, Sylvia, Marissa) as well as a personality. That and I also have in mind set genders for each legendary I capture.
Alternatively, I cannot save the game without actually seeing the message "Tom saved the game." If I'm looking away while the game saves, and I don't see the box pop up, I save again.

I always base my teams on the idea that I'm an anime protagonist. Basically I need a team that has all these qualities:

About the most autistic thing I ever did was changing my starter to a level 5 Riolu.

Started up a SoulSilver playthrough, Got to the point where I could catch and trade Pokemon, caught a Pidgey and traded it with myself from Platinum for a Rilou egg. Hatched it, played the game with it as my starter.

In hindsight it doesn't seem that bad, but given it was Riolu/Lucario, still pretty autistic. They're not my favorite Pokemon anymore simply because of their reputation.

I always do battles with the stylus, so for me it's tapping the stylus repeatedly, faster than when tapping the styles to skip all the messages. And yes, I used to think that tapping the stylus repeatedly in the middle of the pokeball on the bottom screen would increase my catch rate.

I totally try to avoid hacked pokemon because i want to be completely fair. I don't use the online trading with strangers because i can't trust that they aren't giving me a hacked pokemon, i don't want to play a game cartridge that has had an action replay used on it, or has/had a pokemon that is from an action replay and is hacked because i'm worried it's like some "virus" that stays on the cartridge and can affect my game the next time i play it, such as giving a pokemon of mine better stats than normal.

Sometimes if I think my game glitched I'll turn the game off and go back to before the "glitch" happened because I don't want anything to give me an unfair advantage.

I know the hacking thing is stupid and if i just do a total reset of the game it'll be fine but my OCD still makes it bug the fucking hell out of me. I finally got around to replaying my Heart Gold after years of being afraid to touch it again because i couldn't remember if I ever had one of my old pokemon from Pearl/Platinum version where I used an Action Replay when i was younger (which I regret to this day because it still bugs me about the risk)

When I started playing Pokemon, I would name my trainer and all of my Pokemon with proper capitalization instead of ALLCAPS. If I couldn't think of a nickname for it, I'd name it the species name with proper capitalization.
It made my names look out of place in the older games and I couldn't stand it, but I did it anyway.
I was so happy when this got fixed in the newer gens.
