I like the Kanto/Johto arcs for nostalgia but lost interest and started reading the Adventures manga instead.

I think the characters became way too boring and friendly very early on in the series, and the running gags got out of hand.

There's never any stakes, the status quo only ever hints at changing, but doesn't actually change.

And frankly, I don't think the new animation is that impressive. The wibbly wobbly camera and rapid zoom in and zoom outs seem like a lazy way to hide how little is actually animated.

I can't stand the contest shit, it's not even a little entertaining to me.
