No, but it was clearly designed with a Pokeball on mind, just like Tapu Koko was designed with a chicken on mind. Also, there was only one Pokeball inspired Pokemon before Amoonguss, but there were 33 bird inspired Pokemon before Gen 7.

Tapu Koko looks clearly like a chicken's head when it closes its shields: The crest is a comb, the hands are a beak and the orange thing is a wattle. Even the yellow frills at the top of the shields look like wings. And "Koko" is the onomatopoeia for a chicken sound in Hawaiian.
