Had my first loss against Gardenia. Sunny Day/weather ball from Roserade wrecked Aurra the Wormadam.

Aurra was pretty bro tier. She could take a hit, and she had confusion/bug bite/hidden power fire for damage dealing. She was a big help against Gardenia, but she just couldn't take 4x damage.

Gardenia really surprised me. Her dragon dancing Tropius scared me a little, but Aurra one hit killed it with HP fire. I was not expecting the sunny day/weather ball combo.

Rip Aurra, I have a new appreciation for Wormadam.

What should I evolve my Tyrogue into? It's level 20 so I can pretty much get any evo I want.

What all do you have randomized?

Starters are three random starters.
Trainers have Pokemon of about the same strength. Basically Pidgey = Spearow = Starly, don't know how it affects late game.
Wild Pokemon are about the same strength, too. Held items are random.
TMs and Move Tutors have randomized moves, with preferred same type on.
Trade mon's are random.
Gift Pokemon are randomized. Legendaries are other legendaries, normal are either any Pokemon or other gift mon.
Moves are updated to the gen 6 ones.

I think that's about it. It basically turns it into a psuedo-romhack.

Dude I understand vanilla XY is pretty easy, but Wilting isn't worth it.

I've tried and it sucks ass, Shauna having a Protean Greninja off bat is suspect enough, and every gym/major trainer has bullshit like Focus Sash so you're never confidently killing things, and the wild isn't accounted for so not only do you have so little trainers to fight in the first place because of how Kalos is balanced, but the wild Pokemon are so weak, you just never gain levels once you go through all the trainers in an area.

Question for NuzGen, I'm in the Reversal Mountain cave and for whatever reason it's not considered a new area, neither on the ticker once you enter the cave, and on the Town Map (it just considers the entire area "Reversal Mountain")

I already caught Camerupt on the exterior in grass, but what about the cave? You clearly initiate a transition, but nothing about it technically considered a new area, so should I just ignore the first catch? How would you guys handle this? Are there any other examples of a situation like this in other games?

If you want a randomizer, look up the universal pokemon randomizer. That'll handle most anything you throw at it, save for some hacks. And since it's made in Java, it'll run on pretty much whatever you want.

UPDATE AFTER SKYLA. Fuck this bitch for real.

Here was my plan; Start off with Odi the Steelix for stealth rock to deal with Skarmory's sturdy and Swanna's focus sash. Use Snorlax+Ice punch against Gliscor. Togekiss and Archeops were the tricky ones.
And they were.

Odi barely survived Archeops's heat wave, and took two ice punches to die.

Swan the Altaria died in one crit from Togekiss' Hurricane, and in my retardation I accidentally send out Odi who died right after. Charlie the Charizard took it out with two flamethrowers.

Up next was Gliscor who died like a bitch, and Skarmory, a joke without sturdy.

Patrick the Watchhog took a hurricane, but managed to Thunderpunch Swanna into oblivion.

I'm so fucking sad since Odi saved my bacon against Elesa big time.

Six badges in, and White 2 claimed it's first victim.

Darmanitan set up Belly Drum and my Sandslash went for Magnitude, but it only came out as 4, which wasn't enough to finish him off, and Paul just couldn't handle a Thrash on that level...

I'm heartbroken, he was so good, my go-to killer for fire, electric, and steel types. I was hoping I could through the entire game without a single death, but I had a funny feeling Darumaka/Darmanitan would be a problem, they're legitimately the most terrifying thing in the game for me.

Started this some time ago, releasing new LP episodes on my YT channel every now and then.

Basically, it's Fire Red OMEGA with an earlier Moemon reskin (the later ones brake the game) and an added Fairy type.

Fun thing, though I'm mad I chose Fairy instead of going for better sprites.

We're doing pretty similar-ish runs, neat.

I used a vanilla Fire Red rom, replaced 40 old shitmons with 40 Gen IV/V mons. Used the latest Moemon Revival patch, replacing some sprites as I saw fit and of course the 40 replaced ones. Used Mrdollsteak's patch for Fairy and Phys/Special split, etc. Randomized it pretty heavily but with proper filters (no legendaries, base stage starters, forced only fully evolved mons after level 40 or so, etc.) to make it more challenging.

I haven't played at all since last update.
Cleffa(now Clefable) was starter.

I'm considering starting a stream when I can play more consistently.

Any of you have experience with Egglockes? Watching a Volt White one while im playing it.

I've had a question for some time now. Let's say you're desperate and patient enough to go shiny hunting in places you've had an encounter in. Would the eventual shiny be legal or does the Shiny Clause apply to unexpected shinies only? If you think about it, you could simply mask the hunting as grinding.

Honestly, Nuzlockes are an honor-code mode. Most would say that's bending the rules. But, in the end, its your run. If that's truly what you want to do in your run, then do it.

For me, the Shiny clause (which I've yet to use btw) only counts for unexpected ones, and even then, I wouldn't use that monster. Going out of my way to bend the rules or find loopholes isnt something I would do. But, to each their own.

Started a blaze black 2 nuzlocke the other day.
it's been pretty fucking hard so far, but i managed to pull through up to this point.
Roxie is a fucking nightmare in this hack.
Bug-guy was a fucking breeze after Magby evolved. Elesa was easy enough thanks to Sandslash. I'm in Driftveil city now, and i can't remember what type the gym was.
Another pitfall in this hack is, that there are gym leaders from other gens in the cities, and they are usually as hard or harder than the actual gym leaders. you really have to pay attention to the npcs you talk to.

Tips assuming you've never played FRO:

•This game is hard. This game is hard.
•The gyms each have 6 Pokémon around the levels they should be there.
•Gyms have anime 'mons. Brock has a Vulpix, Misty has a Togetic, etc.
•The gyms progressively get harder. Brock's Pokémon are 12's-15's, just like in the game. By the time you're at Koga (the second half), the levels are at 45-50, much higher than the regular games.
•Gyms sneak in coverage moves too.

Anyone here plays with the "only 6 Pokemon" rule? I can only get 6 Mons, and if I encounter a new one I like - gotta decide to release someone from my team for that. Also, can't take or win any Mons besides the starter, and no healing during important fights, like Rival, Boss, Gym or E4.

An hour of grinding Red Shards so Muk can learn Ice Punch for the 7th gym, and she goes down to a critical hit Super Power from Drayden's Flygon.

I was foolish not to switch, but I thought since Esmeralda was so bulky, she could take it. Then in some weird twist of fate, Audino responds back with a critical hit of her own, as if she was avenging her sister in arms.

This is a painful loss, I was really proud of that Muk too, she sweeped the entire gym up till that point, and the encounter rate was like 5%.

I might be after the record for slowest Nuzlocke. Nearly 10 hours in and no second badge yet. On the bright side, got a Soothe Bell for Batanical and two new mons for the PC. Never liked Bronzor or Meditite but maybe they'll surprise me if given the chance.

Still need to get Ristar to the level cap of 22 as I'm taking NO chances against Roserade. Batanical should be of great help with double grass resistance, poison resistance, and Confuse Ray fuckery.

Things aren't off to a good start. Lost Taylor trying to get MGMT, who has crazy high attack.

Rickroll and Muse have no attacking moves, and nobody's dropped a TM yet. All I have are a useless berry, from Russel, a Charcoal from Taylor, and a white flute from Astley.

I took a couple hour break to collect myself after burying my starter and 1st ever caught Pokemon. I'm walking back to the town to heal up and run into a wild Doduo, so I decide to give it to my new (non nicknamed) Bunnelby, I use quick attack and think about how it's nature and stats are actually quite good for its attack and I could groom it into a decent physical atta... Doduo used peck... Its a critical hit!.. Bunnelby fainted...

Holy shit the nuzlocke gods have a serious problem with not nicknaming Pokemon. When will my punishment end. 4 mons have now been taken from me.

I have only 3 left and I've only gotten one badge. It looks grim.

Alright, started randomized emerald. Starter was seadra somehow, but ok.

In the petalburg woods and I caught my first partner Pokemon because I kept critical killing the others.

I think that because it randomized and I had managed to catch one and the random trade matched...I just had to.
