Not really. Electro Ball has fucking trash BP mods, you need to be 4x as fast as something to get 150 BP. You can get it on slow defensive stuff, but honestly versus anything with speed EVs you're just getting 80 BP

It hit 80BP against Talonflame with terrain and scarf, and that's pretty much the fastest mon in the tier and weak to elec.

Assuming Raichu doesn't get any faster than its regular form it's base speed in Electric terrain is 220 base speed.

If the foe is 3 times as slow the BP is still 120, so a perfect accuracy thunder. After STAB and Electric Terrain it's a ridicolous base 337 damage, not counting any weaknesses.

That's still insane. The question is, how is speed calculated? One third, does that mean that any pokemon that has a base speed higher than 73 (or less with EVs) you only get 80 damage against?

1050 speed gets 150 BP on Pokemon with 262 speed or less. Almost anything with speed investment is faster than that. Never mind that the scarf isn't really letting you outspeed anything else you wouldn't normally at that point, so you're just using it to get a damage boost.You'd be way better off with Specs and Thunderbolt, especially since that actually boosts other moves. Not trying to be super-negative, but if Electro Ball isn't buffed it's a really, really bad move.

Let's say he gets a big boost to his speed, say 40 more points. That means he has 150 base speed, or 438 max regularily or 876 doubled.

In this case he just gets pokemon with less speed than 292 speed, which means that even pokemon as low as base 85 speed (maxed) will only be hit with 80 bp electroball

Either way, it's alot better to use Thunder or Thunderbolt

Depending on if Smogon hasn't gone full retard yet and hasn't yet banned BP with speed boostan, you could be able to set up with speed buge to +6 speed boosting, before then BPing to Rai, bringing out ET (since from the looks of the trailer, it likely learns it), and then becoming the fastest thing in the universe.

A +6 speed boosted Alolan Raichu will end up having this much speed once ET is set up:

(350 * 4) * 2 = 2800

Yes, you are in fact reading this correctly. Set up with Speed Buge, switch to Rai, set up ET, and you now have over 2800 speed total. That is enough speed to ensure 150 BP electro balls with even Speed Deoxys, the fastest mon in existence.

So yeah, Alolan Rairai is now the fastest thing in existence possibly if it can set up.
