My husband plays with me, but they aren't as serious about it as I am. They do IVs and EVs. But I'm the one that spends most time breeding a bunch of pokemon, shiny hunting, and collecting various pokeballs. It's fun when we battle though.

He didn't really have nostalgia for it as it came out to the west when he was much older. I pretty much am the one that got him playing again, as he didn't play since Gen 2 when we first met.

We play lots of other games together too. Though we both have games that the other doesn't play (I'm not big on Etrian Odyssey, where he is) It's not really an issue though when we have different tastes. There's no "That's for kids" kind of mentality for most games.

Honestly, the only person that ever gave me issues for playing pokemon was when I was a senior in high school about to graduate and one of the girls at the table was weirded out I was still playing. I've been playing since '98, so I wasn't stopping any time soon. (What made it better was everyone was playing at the Graduation Practice so I can't imagine how she felt about that lol)

If we ever have kids, I'm making them pick up pokemon though.

She much prefers pokemon to me hunkering down to watch football every Sunday. Next example will be my brother-in-law (27) and his wife. She doesn't see the point in video games, but takes a similar stance in that it's a hobby that is no different from her shoe shopping/Netflix binging so she accepts it.

Bottom line is find someone who is happy that you have something that brings you joy or comfort after a long day at work. It's all the same.

I've always found the newest Gens at the time to be the best, as they are (in my eyes) always filled with improvements. Now is no different. Gen 6 is currently my favorite, but now Gen 7 looks like it's going to be the best Gen ever.

29, engage, live in my own place, English teacher. Been a pokemon fan since I saw it on Nintendo Power before the game was release.
Been in a long term relationship with 2 women who were pokemon fan. Currently over 5 years with one and she loves it a lot but does not engage into the mechanism as much as I do. Pokemon is my favorite franchise and I only love it more and more.
